TribecaConnect.com’s mission is to connect Beauty industry professionals to allow them to be more productive and successful in their careers.  In line with our mission is our commitment to be transparent with about data we collect about you, how it is used and with whom it is shared. 

This Privacy Policy applies to our website TribecaConnect.com (“Site”), and other TribecaConnect.com related sites, communication and services (collectively the “Services”). By visiting our Site and/or using the Services, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Please note that the Services are directed to users in the United States.

Changes to This Policy

TribecaConnect.com (“we”, or “us”) may make changes to the Services in the future and as a consequence will need to revise this Policy to reflect those changes. TribecaConnect.com will post all such changes on the Services, so you should review this page periodically. If we make a material change to the Policy, you will be provided with appropriate notice.

Who uses the Services.

We make our Services available to different types of users, including, Applicants, Employers, and other Users (each individually or collectively a “user” or “you”). The information that the Services collect from and share about you may depend on your user type.

  • An Applicant is individual who registers to use the Services to search, view, and apply to job postings listed through the Services.
  • An Employer is an entity or individual who registers to use the Services to publish a job announcement, search for or communicate with Applicants, or utilize the Services for certain other purposes related to searching for a candidate to perform work.
  • User is an individual or entity that visits or uses the Site or Services, including Applicants and Employers.

 

What information we collect and maintain about you

We collect both Personal Information and Other Information about you in connection with the Services. “Personal Information” is information that we can directly associate with a specific person without additional information, such as your name or email address. “Other Information” is any information we collect that is not Personal Information. We may combine Personal Information with Other Information, in which case we will treat the combined information as Personal Information. We also may combine information that we collect about you through the Services with additional information that we or third parties collect in other contexts—such as our communications with you via email or phone. In those circumstances, we will treat the combined information in accordance with this Policy.

You can visit the Site without submitting any Personal Information. However, as described below, we automatically collect some Other Information when you visit the Site. To use the Services as an Applicant or Employer you will be required to register for an account.

Information about Applicants.

To use the Services as an Applicant, you must register for an account and provide your name, email address, and a password. We also collect the following Personal Information when you choose to provide it:

  • Physical address;
  • Precise geolocation;
  • Work and educational history;
  • Job type and industry preference;
  • Resume;
  • Photos;
  • Videos; and
  • License Number(s).

Information about Employers

To use the Services as an Employer, you must register an account and provide: the business’s name, the account registrant name, an email address and password, the category of your business, the position you are hiring for, and the physical address of the business. Employers may also choose to provide:

  • The account registrant’s title at the business;
  • Photo(s);
  • Video(s);
  • A description of the business and the number of employees at the business; and
  • Information about the job posting, including: a job description, the salary, and whether the position is full or part time, temporary or permanent, etc.

Information about Users

For all Users, we also collect your Personal Information when you provide it to us. For example, if you would like to contact us through the contact form on the Site, or if you submit comments to one of our blog posts, we may ask you to provide your name and email address. In addition, you may provide us with additional Personal Information when you contact us through one of these means.

Social media information.

You may choose to log in to the Services using a third-party social media service, such as Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. If you do so, we may collect Personal and Other Information from the social media provider, including, for example, your username, email address, and available profile information, such as your public profile URL, profile photo, birthdate, gender, and address. We will ask for your consent prior to your logging in to the Services using your social media account or connecting your social media account to the Services. If you provide such consent, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to provide us with information about your social media connections.

Surveys.

From time to time, we may ask our users to participate in surveys. Such surveys may be used to collect both Personal and Other Information. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary, and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose your information.

Other Information collected automatically through the Services.

We automatically collect information that does not directly identify you when you use, access, or interact with our Services. This may include information such as your IP address and domain name, your Internet service provider, the date and time of your visit, your use of the Services during your current session and over time (including the pages you view and the files you download), the URLs from the websites you visit before and after navigating to the Services, your computer’s operating system and browser type, your software and hardware attributes (including App version, device type, and device identifiers, including IDFA and/or Advertising IDs), and your general geographic location (e.g., your city, state, or metropolitan region). We collect such information using a variety of mechanisms, including the following:

  • Web log data. When you visit the Services, we automatically receive and record certain information from your computer (or other device) and your browser. To obtain such information, we may use web logs or applications that recognize your computer (or other device) and gather information about its online activity.
  • Cookies. We also use cookies on the Services. Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer or other device by your web browser. A cookie allows the Services to recognize whether you have visited before and may store user preferences and other information. If you are concerned about having cookies on your computer or other device, you can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being set, allowing you to decide whether to accept it. You can also delete cookies from your computer or other device. However, if you choose to block or delete cookies, certain features of the Services may not operate correctly.
  • Web beacons. The Services or the emails that you receive from TribecaConnect.com may use an application known as a “web beacon” (also known as a “clear gif” or “pixel tag”). A web beacon is an electronic file that usually consists of a single-pixel image. It can be embedded in a web page or in an email to transmit information, which could include personal information. For example, it may allow our email sender to determine whether a user has opened a particular email.

 

Third-party online tracking and behavioral advertising. We also may partner with certain third parties to collect, analyze, and use some of the Personal and Other Information described in this section. For example, we may allow third parties to set cookies or use web beacons on the Services or in email communications from us. This information may be used for a variety of purposes, including online behavioral advertising, as discussed below (see the section entitled “Third-Party Analytics and Targeted Advertising”).

 

How We Use Your Information

TribecaConnect.com uses the Personal and Other Information that we collect for a variety of purposes. We may use it to, for example:

  • Provide the Services to you and other Users;
  • Create Applicant and Employer profiles;
  • Respond to your questions or requests concerning the Site or Services offered by us;
  • Fulfill the terms of any agreement you have with us;
  • Post job notices for Employers;
  • Transmit Applicant information to Employers;
  • Deliver notifications and similar operational communications;
  • Send you information about our Services and other topics that are likely to be of interest to you, including newsletters, updates, or other communications ;
  • Count and recognize users of the Services and analyze how the Services are used;
  • Improve the Services and enhance Users’ experiences with the Services;
  • Create new products and services;
  • Engage in analytics and targeted advertising as described below;
  • Comply with legal and/or regulatory requirements;
  • Compile and share aggregated information; and
  • Manage our business.

We use real-time geolocation information one time, with your permission, to set your location. Location information enables Applicants and Employers to more easily determine whether a job opportunity is geographically suitable for both parties. We do not continue to collect or use geolocation information after we set your location.

How We Share Your Information with Third Parties

We share your Personal Information and Other Information with other parties for a variety of purposes, as described below.

Affiliates. We may share Personal and Other Information with our corporate affiliates for the purposes described in this Policy.

 

Third-party service providers. TribecaConnect.com uses third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, including web-hosting companies, email vendors, and analytics providers. These service providers may collect and/or use your Personal or Other Information to assist us in achieving the purposes discussed above. We may also share your Personal or Other Information with other third parties when necessary to fulfill your requests for services; to meet the terms of any agreement that you have with us or our partners; or to manage our business.

 

Other users of the Services. TribecaConnect.com shares your information with Applicants and Employers where appropriate. For example, when an Applicant applies to a job posting, an Employer may view the Applicant’s Profile including any Personal Information the Applicant has provided. Similarly, Applicants may view an Employer’s job posting and the contact information for that posting.

 

Your direct sharing of personal information through the Site or third-party websites and services. The Services may enable you to share Personal Information with other users of the Services. For example you may post photos or videos on your profile that are visible to all users of the Services. In addition, the Services may permit comments to be submitted on articles or blog posts or contain links to third-party websites that incorporate comment and social media features, including the Facebook “like” button and the Twitter “follow” button or other similar social media integrations. If you choose to use these features, you may disclose your Personal Information not just to the third-party websites and services, but also to their users and the public more generally. Because the third-party websites and services are not operated by TribecaConnect.com, we are not responsible for the content or practices of those websites or services. The collection, use, and disclosure of your Personal and Other Information on third-party websites and services will be subject to the privacy policies of the third party websites or services, and not this Policy.

 

Third-party plugins. The Services integrate certain third-party plug-ins (such as a Facebook “like” button). Even if you do not click on these plug-ins, they may collect information about you, such as your IP address and the pages that you view. They also may set and/or access a cookie. These plugins are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.

 

Legal purposes. We also may use or share your Personal or Other information with third parties when we believe, in our sole discretion, that doing so is necessary:

 

  • To comply with applicable law or a court order, subpoena, or other legal process;
  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, violations of our terms and conditions, or situations involving threats to our property or the property or physical safety of any person or third party;
  • To establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; or
  • To facilitate the financing, securitization, insuring, sale, assignment, bankruptcy, or other disposal of all or part of our business or assets.

Aggregated information. From time to time, TribecaConnect.com may also share aggregated information about Users, such as by publishing reports on trends in the usage of the Services.

 

Third-Party Analytics and Targeted Advertising

 

Analytics. We partner with certain third parties to collect the Other Information discussed above and to engage in analysis, auditing, research, and reporting. These third parties may use web logs or web beacons, and they may set and access cookies on your computer or other device. In particular, the Services use GOOGLE ANALYTICS among others to help collect and analyze certain information for the purposes discussed above. You may opt out of the use of cookies by Google Analytics HERE.

 

Targeted Advertising. The Services also enables third-party tracking mechanisms to collect information about you and your computing devices for use in online interest-based advertising. For example, third parties may use the fact that you visited our Services to target online ads to you. In addition, our third-party advertising networks might use information about your use of our Services to help target advertisements based on your online activity in general. For information about interest-based advertising practices, including privacy and confidentiality, visit the NETWORK ADVERTISING INITIATIVE website or the DIGITAL ADVERTISING ALLIANCE website.

The use of online tracking mechanisms by third parties is subject to those third parties’ own privacy policies, and not this Policy. If you prefer to prevent third parties from setting and accessing cookies on your computer or other device, you may set your browser to block cookies. Additionally, you may remove yourself from the targeted advertising of companies within the Network Advertising Initiative by opting out HERE., or of companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance by opting out HERE.. Although our Services currently do not respond to “do not track” browser headers, you can limit tracking by these third parties and by taking the steps discussed above.

The Services may contain links to third-party websites. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites, and any services that may be accessible through them, have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave the Services and to read the privacy policies applicable to such third-party websites. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected in connection with the Services.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to deliver our Services to you, to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. To request the deletion of your Personal Information, please contact us at TribecaConnect@gmail.com.

 

Data Security

We employ physical, technical and administrative procedures to safeguard the personal information we collect. However, no security program is 100% secure. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to the Services or to us, and you transmit such information at your own risk.

International Users

The Services are directed to users in the United States, and the information that we collect through or in connection with the Services is transferred to and processed in the United States for the purposes described above. TribecaConnect.com also may subcontract the processing of your data to, or otherwise share your data with, affiliates or third parties in the United States or countries other than your country of residence. The data-protection laws in these countries may be different from, and less stringent than, those in your country of residence. By using the Services or by providing any Personal or Other Information to us, you expressly consent to such transfer and processing.

California Residents

If you are a California resident under 18 years of age you may request that we remove content and information that you post on our Services. To obtain removal of such content and information, please send us an email at TribecaConnect@gmail.com with a short description of the content or information you would like to have removed. Please note that such a request does not necessarily ensure complete or comprehensive removal of content posted by you, since the content and information may remain in our databases, may remain visible in a manner that does not identify you, or may have been re-posted by another user.

 

Children

The Services are directed at individuals over the age of 18 and are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
